Your suggestions.....
We are at the end of the year and I need to decide which books to include in my library for next year. Think about all the books you have read this year. Choose one book that you think your peers should read. In the following post write the name of the book, the author (if you can remember), who the book would appeal to, a brief summary, and what specifically you liked about the book.

Farah at School
Farah eventually seeks refuge in America. Predict. What was life like for her at an American high school? If you were a new student from overseas, especially an Islamic student, what do you think it would be like to come to Gateway?

Ms. Shipman
Write about something you learned or something that you have questions about from Ms. Shipman's visit.
For instance, I was amazed at the number of refugees who fled to Pakistan and wondered how that country could sustain over 3 million refugees from another country. Whenever I hear about refugees it makes me wonder what it would feel like to be completely displaced, with no home base and no comfort.
You don't have to write about this. Use the word wall to jog your memory about the different issues Ms. Shipman shared with us.
