Moving from one country to another or visiting another country is probably exciting but also sourda scary cuz like u dont know wat its gonna b like and yeah thats what i think
ReplyDeleteI think it would sorta be hard. She had to learn english and write and say it and it would be a different learning environment. It would take me a while and since she is in high school and you usually learn better when your younger.
ReplyDeleteLife was probably hard. Learning english, getting to where what we get to where. At school it was probably strange since everyone was probably looking at her weirdly. It would probably be hard! I mean all the things that happen, the cloths we where, and the cloths they where are totally different. We also might treat her differently at first and she probably wouldn't like it. Soooo thats what I think......

ReplyDeleteLife would be wierd for her because the school is not a tent. She would see a lot of new girls that do not have to cover their face. Boys and girls go to same school.
ReplyDeleteI also think it would be exciting because you are going to new places and seeing new things. But it would also be really scary. I think that I would be really scared and unconfident.

ok what i think about the girl coming to gateway is like oh my god and she woudn't like know how to do anything like cuz we have like computers and she wouldn't know what to do and all the furtiner she wouldnt know like i dotn know like she would be like a new pet coming in your house with like 10 scared an wouldnt know what to do
ReplyDeletei think it would be different for her because i don't that think she has that a lot of people in her school like we have in your school... and i think that it would a great opportunity to see what other cultures and religion are like.

ReplyDeletei think if i was coming to another school it would be REALLY awkward......i would be nervous and not talk to people, but then i would probably get up enough courage to talk to people, but it still would be awkward......:)

ReplyDeleteI think that she will like not having to look out for bombs and landmines anymore. Also it must be hard to go to a new school where you might not know much about their culture. She must have been very scared and a nervous wreck
ReplyDeletei think she is going to be shoked and afraid at the same time and she wasnt used to having alot of kids in the school and have seperate grades because in her country they have more than one grade in a tent in america we have seperate grades and have more than one class room and we have desks and chairs they have to sit on the ground and learn with like 20 ppl we have sometimes 20-25 and if you get onto the double rooms you have like 30-35
ReplyDeleteI think that it would be really hard to get used to. I know what it is like to switch to a new school, but coming to another country must be a lot different!!! Feeling like you fit in and getting to know people can be really hard. You have to be really strong, and make a effort to meet people. It would probably be nice to not worry about getting bombed, and to always worry about losing your family.
ReplyDeleteIf I had just lost my father and brothers to a bomb and was going to a totally different school. I would feel like an outcast. I would feel like everyone was talking about em behind my back. Everything would be different.

ReplyDeleteI think for a twelve year old afgan girl to move to america and go to a school with probly a different language, a different culture, and different people, would be hard on anyone. There are ups and down aswell though like she wont have to do with much more war or danger, but she also might run into alot of problems whail there too.

I think moving from one country to another in just a little bit of time would be hard for her. Going to an american school and being an afghan girl must be really hard for her.
ReplyDeleteImagine having to live in america. Losing ur family and having to speak english. I wonder how long it would take Fara to live so far away from the home she has lived to know and love. To find it destroyed ouch!

I think it would be weird for her to come to Gateway because no one else here understands her culture as much as her. It would be an outstanding change if she left her culture back in afganistan, but the chances of that are less likly to happen than a kitty-cat getting along with a pack of barbarous hound dogs

ReplyDeleteProbably frightening. She most likely doesn't speak English, she would have to learn, and it would be extremely hard to fit in. In Afghanistan they have there own style of clothes, and she would stand out in Gateway.

I would be EXTREMELY nervous! Like, your foreign and all these kids have been together the past 4 years and they all know each other and you have a fake leg, and everyone is staring at you.... Wow. I would probably drop dead of nervous anxiety! Poor Farah. >.<

ReplyDeleteWow. Talk about a culture shock! Imagine: your father and brothers just died,your home has been destroyed, and your foot has basically been blown off. Then imagine moving to America. People stare and point. And laugh. Mockingly. At you. Then imagine Gateway. The kids here would stare at you, and some might laugh. Your clothes.. they're so.... WEIRD!! And you wouldn't know anything really.. School is very different here. In time,you will make friends and learn the ways. All in time...

ReplyDeleteIf I was new to gateway coming from Afghanistan I would be very scared. Being laughed because of different clothes and because I probably would not speak english real good. I would die of the big change and the new environment.
