i liked the chapter but it was really sad. that is why adults told her not to go there. i wonder why they didnt tell her that there was field mines there.
That chapter was very strong and sad the girl was late for school and was upset because she is missing valuable school time so she took a short cut and got her leg blow off and she did not know untell she got to the hospital wich was not really a hospital the doctor knew how to clean and bandage wounds!!!
The thing that struck me the most was when she had no skin and it was all muscle and bone and nothing else that the doctors could do and they new that germans were coming to take a person that needed to and they took her and she was only 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What really struck me in this chapter the most was that the doctors at the hospital didn't know that much at all about... being a doctor. All that they pretty much new how to do was how to put alcohol on a wound and how to bandage it, which I learned in like the second grade. So I would much rather take care of myself before going to that hospital.
What struck me from this chapter was why she didn't want to look at her leg. To see what's wrong, to see what happened, or to see what the people were starring at.
I think that its a good thing that Germans picked her. Because if they didn't she would have died for sure. Because the stupid afghan doctors didn't know how to help her. They only new how to bandage her
thought that chapter, The Shortcut was a sad chapter. I felt bad when the girl got hit my a mine. And when she went to the doctor, I was surprised that they didn't have the skills to help her.
I think that the part with the landmine was sad but like having that all as a flash back because that must have been a horrible day and i deffinatly wouldnt want to remember it.
I felt sick when Mrs. B was reading the chapter when the girl got her legs blown off. She was making sound effects and it made me sick. I think she was reading it with WAY TOO MUCH EMOTION. But other than that, the book is ok so far.
i almost felt sick when Mrs. B was reading the chapter when the girl got her legs blown off. She was reading it WAY TOO MUCH emotion and it made me sick!
i think the chapter was really sad.. why wouldnt anybody tell her why she couldnt actually go in the fields? cuz if u dont say why u cant go in the fields or what is dangerous then how are they going to know that its not safe?
If I lost my leg my getting hit by a land mine.......... I don't think I would ever leave my house again!!! Never mind going outside!! And if I got hungry I would eat my prosthetic leg!!!
i think th@t if i lost my leg i would tell people that a wolverien bit it right off so the would think i was really cool and i would be the coolest kid ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
